The story of
Janelle Schettler
I grew up—and still live—in rural Minnesota, surrounded by farmland, faith, and a close-knit community. Raised in a farming area, I learned early the value of hard work, creativity, and finding beauty in everyday life. That grounding continues to shape both my family life and my design work today.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in horticulture and have spent the past 17 years working as a florist in a small rural community with a strong Christian foundation. Flowers, plants, and thoughtful details have always been part of how I express care, encouragement, and faith—whether through a garden, a handmade card, or a meaningful gift.
My husband is a cattle farmer and also farms corn and soybeans, and together we are raising four young children—three boys and one girl—on the same values of faith, family, and stewardship of the land. Life is full, busy, and deeply rooted, and much of my inspiration comes from the rhythms of farm life, the changing seasons, and the beauty found in simple, intentional moments.
I was raised Catholic and continue to practice my faith, which is at the heart of everything I create. Janelle Schettler Designs grew from a desire to combine my love of crafting, gardening, cooking, and design with my faith—creating scripture-rooted paper goods that help others share encouragement, celebrate meaningful moments, and express their beliefs through handmade gifts.
Each design is inspired by faith, family,
and the quiet beauty of rural life.
